60 Years of the Goethe-Institut London

In 2022, the Goethe-Institut London marked its 60th anniversary with a year-long programme celebrating six decades of cultural exchange between Germany and the United Kingdom. The main anniversary events included a 60s-themed party, three Goethe Annual Lectures, and an exhibition surveying the work of students from the Royal College of Art, curated by Ines Weizman and Blanca Valdes, Air and Dreams: Proposals on the Imagination of Matter.

In addition to the event series, a central feature of the anniversary was a short film series showcasing leading figures from the arts and culture sector, who reflected on the impact and significance of the Goethe-Institut London in their personal and professional lives. The anniversary programme both honoured past achievements and looked ahead to future collaborations.

About the project

Project responsibilities:
Budget management, communications, marketing strategy, and digital content production

As project lead, I oversaw the project’s marketing strategy, budget management, communications, and digital content production. I coordinated internal and external stakeholders through weekly planning meetings and ensured that all events and content were delivered to the highest standard across all platforms.

I led the production of the short film series, managing all stages from commissioning and contracts to editorial oversight and final delivery. I created and implemented promotional campaigns across newsletters, social media, and paid advertising, and produced comprehensive media packs to support outreach. To further broaden engagement, I also developed and delivered a public competition to promote the project. In addition, I administered all payments for commissioned content, external advertisements, and social media boosts.

I built and maintained dedicated webpages using our custom-built CMS, curated a YouTube playlist of the films, and ensured consistent cross-platform publication. To evaluate performance, I regularly compiled data reports using Webtrekk, Meta Business Suite, and Eventbrite Analytics, feeding insights back to stakeholders to refine and strengthen marketing strategies and digital output.
