About the project

The Goethe-Institut UK promotes international cultural exchange by presenting artistic perspectives on contemporary issues and fostering dialogue between Germany, the UK, and the wider world. Its cultural programmes span exhibitions, performances, residencies, and debates developed in close collaboration with artists, institutions, and initiatives across disciplines.

In 2023, I developed the digital project, In conversation with, purposed to document the Goethe-Institut UK’s cultural programmes and provide audiences with an insight into the work of the artists, partners and curators we collaborate with. The video and written interviews were well-received by the public and highly commended by my colleagues for capturing the spirit of the Goethe-Institut UK’s cultural initiatives and extending their reach to a wider digital audience.

Project responsibilities:
Curation and digital content production

Having spent two years working as the Goethe-Institut London’s Online Editor, I recognised that there was a lack of documentation of the national cultural programmes. Accordingly, I successfully pitched and established the digital interview series, In conversation with.

For the project, I oversaw its development from concept to delivery. My tasks included building and updating the project webpage using the Goethe-Institut’s custom CMS, as well as collating images and texts from interviewees to create promotional content for cross-platform use in line with editorial guidelines.

As the curator of the series, I was also responsible for researching and preparing interview questions, producing video materials using Hindenburg and Kapwing, and writing and fact-checking editorial copy. I also translated English-language content into German, optimised SEO links for articles, and ensured accuracy across all published materials. In addition, I prepared media packs for individual interviews and shared these with partner organisations to extend the project’s reach.
