Tipp Talk podcast

About the project

Tipp Talk is a German-language podcast produced by the Goethe-Institut’s DigiLab team. Each episode offers concise insights into contemporary cultural trends in Germany in under ten minutes. To support German language learners, every episode was paired with a recommended piece of German literature available to borrow free of charge through the Goethe-Institut’s digital library, Onleihe.

The podcast is available on the following distribution platforms: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Deezer, and the Goethe-Institut’s website.

Project responsibilities: Budget management, digital strategy and content production

In January 2021, I was promoted to the Goethe-Institut’s DigiLab, where I curated, produced, and distributed digital projects, editorial content, and events across Northwest Europe. One of the most popular initiatives we developed was the Tipp Talk podcast.

As a content co-producer, I played a pivotal role in the production process, from curating episodes and selecting guests to script editing and final audio mastering. Of the four DigiLab team members, I was the only non-native German speaker with a background in managing one of the Goethe-Institut’s most subscribed podcasts, Talking Culture. As a representative of the target audience of German language learners, my insights were especially valuable in shaping content that was both engaging and accessible.

Drawing on this experience, I created, translated, and published all English-language promotional content, ensuring accessibility for international audiences. I also provided editorial feedback on scripts and audio edits, advised on topics and guest selection during planning meetings, and supported post-production with guidance on clarity, pacing, and editorial sound quality before episodes were released.
